Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual with a strong background in Technical Enablement and Program management to join our fast-paced, rapidly expanding, APJ enablement team. This position, reporting to the Senior Manager of APJ Enablement, is responsible for ensuring that all our APJ internal and partner technical teams are well versed in selling, designing and implementing our solution based portfolio. The APJ Technical Services Enablement Manager will be instrumental in understanding our technical solutions (both current and upcoming) and sales motions and current expertise in the technical communities across the 6 operating regions in APJ. They will identify what development and enablement is required, and work with key stakeholders in the region to prioritise and plan the necessary enablement activities, and manage the successful delivery and outcomes of the enablement activities within our APJ Technical Service organization. The outcome will position our teams to better provide differentiated business value to our customers.

The scope of the enablement activities will not only include product based training, but also identifying the associated training and enablement requirements, this would include attaining related technology skills e.g. networking, security, storage and soft-skills such as presentation skills, negotiation, solution selling, value-based selling etc. In addition there will be a delivery aspect to the role; it is expected that the Technical Services Enablement Manager will be able to deliver training at times to both direct audiences and at times in “T3” situations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, ideally with the VMware product/solution set, with experience in high-level curriculum development, and education or enablement delivery experience. This role requires a well-rounded individual who has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills as well as a proven track record in enablement and training programs. Excellent project management, solid facilitation skills and broad execution capabilities will be required. This creative, self-starting candidate should have top-notch customer-facing skills and the ability to work well with and gain the respect of other Technical Services (TS) personnel.

A strong ability to drive, collaborate, and manage a wide range of education and enablement initiatives is a must. This person will be capable of working in a fast paced environment and will be passionate about enabling others. He or she will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently.

This is an Asia Pacific role; the candidate must be able to travel frequently. Strong English skills are essential. Fluency in Asian languages is preferred.

Performance objectives for the role

- Proactively engage with TS leadership to identify, prioritize, develop, and execute technical enablement plans for TS community and associates in the APJ region.
- Work collaboratively & coordinate with the broader APJ Enablement managers, to ensure successful event planning, facilitation, delivery and reporting of all TS enablement programs.
- Partner with Global Field & Partner Enablement, Global Technical Services (GTS), and the BU to drive technical skills development and deep dive architecture skills; covering all four BU’s, specialising in one area from a subject matter expert standpoint.
- Capture best practices (customer deliverables/tribal knowledge) and group discussions and work with GTS to write it up and submit to a central repository for scalable access and collaboration.
- Leveraging the infrastructure that the Global Field & Partner Enablement teams are driving, co-create on-boarding Boot camps and continuous development plans/maps (including launch) for the TS community & associates.
- Collaborate on driving the creation, adoption and ownership of an online production level demo environments in conjunctions with GTS/COE for the technical community (part of the One Cloud initiative).
- Facilitate Enablement TTT’s and program deliveries as appropriate.
- Deliver Training to internal audiences in T3 or classroom scenarios
- Maintain a high of knowledge about our emerging product areas.
- Drive the creation of a structured SME program in partnership with Global Field & Partner Enablement.
- Work in conjunction with colleagues (COE & TS Management) responsible for SE & PSO Technical Enablement and Technical Services Skills Enablement.

Competencies required for the role

- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in training and enablement organizations with a demonstrated track record of successfully executing advanced technical training and enablement programs.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar APJ based role and relative multicultural awareness & exposure.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in presales, professional services, engineering, development training, or consulting roles.
- Highly responsive (e.g. 24 hour SLA) to internal customer requests.
- High energy level and a “can do” attitude.
- Effective time manager, capable of developing the strategy and delivering/executing on the tactics on multiple projects, on time and on budget.
- Ability to maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced, team environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Diplomacy, integrity, and a presence that enables you to work effectively at all levels within large organization; experience with interfacing with engineering and business management teams an advantage.
- Positive demeanor, with a sense of purpose and the ability to have fun.
- Hands on experience and in depth understanding of virtualization, storage and data protection, security and/or cloud computing products will be a significant plus.
- Understanding of what motivates your internal customer.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree, preferably a Technical Degree.
- IT Technical and/or related certifications (e.g. VTSP, VCP, PMP) an advantage.
- Strong English skills are essential. Fluency in Asian languages is preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently in Asia Pacific.
