Job DescriptionYou will be responsible for the success of driving cloud automation into VMware’s installed base and to new customers. As part of the Cloud Automation Product Marketing team you will work closely with VMware’s customers, strategic partners, our sales force, product management, and other cross-functional organizations. You will define the positioning, create the sales kit and take the Cloud Automation Solution to market. You will support the work streams for packaging & pricing, product launches as well as driving marketing programs. Specifically you will
- Define the target markets for specific Cloud Automation solution offerings. Drive understanding of market size and potential, and customer buying behavior
- Identify new market opportunities within the virtualization and application software space. Champion strategic initiatives to capture new market opportunities
- Drive product packaging and pricing to optimize revenue generation for specific Cloud Automation Solutions
- Develop appropriate positioning and messaging for different level audiences (end user, IT Manager, CXO) and for different target segments
- Create the whole spectrum of sales tools and collateral (PowerPoint presentations, datasheets, white papers, customer case studies, demos, and training materials) to communicate the value proposition of VMware’s products and solutions to customers and partners
- Develop the sales and channel strategy for specific products and solutions. Analyze the sales cycle and channel mix for specific products and solutions, and formulate ideas and approaches to optimize the selling process
- Define the overall marketing strategy for aspects of Cloud Automation. Work closely with corporate marketing to determine and execute lead generation, analyst relations, and public relations programs. Project-manage product launches
- Drive the industry conversation about the product domain. Set the agenda for the public debate in a way that showcases VMware advantage
- Act as the primary company spokesperson for product line in front of press, industry analysts, and customers
Requirements:
- MBA and BA/BS in Computer Science (or equivalents)
- A minimum of 10 years leadership experience in technology product marketing or product management in the enterprise software market segment.
- Proven track record of growing new products and solutions into successful businesses
- Technical background in the datacenter and infrastructure software space, with good application software background
- Aptitude to quickly come up to speed on new technology concepts
- Ability to deal with and execute under ambiguity
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with enterprise customers, presenting to C-level executives and passion to evangelize a disruptive new technology
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
